Frequently asked questions
Everything people ask before deciding.
If your question is not here, send us a message. We answer everything — including when the answer is that we do not do that job.
How much does a clean cost?
It depends on the type of clean, the size of the place and the state it is in — which is why we do not publish a price list that would only mislead. The quote is free, itemised, and shows the price of the service, the VAT and the total to pay.
How long do you take to reply?
Within 48 hours on working days, often the same day. If you are in a hurry, WhatsApp is the fastest route.
Does the quote cost anything or commit me to anything?
Neither. It is free, even when we have to come out and see the job. If you decide not to go ahead there is no charge and no chasing from us.
Do you bring the products and the machines?
Yes, we bring everything needed: products, protective equipment and professional machines — hot water extraction for upholstery, pressure washers for outdoors and industrial vacuums. If you would rather we used your own products, because of allergies or delicate surfaces, just say so.
Do I need to be home during the service?
No. Many clients leave a key with us or arrange access with a neighbour or a porter. We record that securely and work without any trouble.
Which parts of Madeira do you cover?
The whole island and Porto Santo. Travel costs for areas further from Funchal are always shown separately on the quote — they never turn up as a surprise.
Do you work weekends?
Yes. Saturday is a normal working day and on Sunday we work subject to availability. Weekend work carries a supplement, which is shown on the quote.
How is payment made?
By bank transfer or MB WAY after the service, with an invoice issued to your tax number if you need one. For regular services, invoicing is monthly.
What if I am not happy with the result?
Tell us within 48 hours and we come back to put right whatever was wrong, at no cost. We would rather go back than keep an unhappy client.
Are you insured?
Yes. The company carries public liability insurance. If something breaks while we are working, it is on us — and we tell you straight away, we do not wait for you to find out.
Are your products safe for children and pets?
We use professional products and always respect ventilation and drying times. If you have babies, animals or anyone with allergies, say so in the request and we adjust the products.
Do you clean for businesses, with an invoice?
Yes. We work with offices, shops, clinics, apartment blocks and holiday-let management companies, on a fixed-schedule contract with a monthly invoice.
Questions about specific services
These also appear on each service page.
How long does it take?
A two-bedroom flat usually takes 5 to 7 hours with two people. A three-bedroom or a house can take the whole day. We give you the exact estimate in the quote, before we start.
Do I need to be there?
No. Many clients leave us a key or arrange access with a neighbour. We note that down and work on our own without any trouble.
Do you bring the products?
Yes, we bring everything: products, machines and protective equipment. If you would rather we used yours — because of allergies or delicate surfaces — just say so.
Do I get a discount as a regular client?
Yes. Recurring work costs less than a one-off, and the more frequent it is the bigger the discount. It is set out in the quote.
What if I do not need it one week?
Let us know 48 hours ahead and we skip that visit at no cost. This is a relationship, not a rigid contract.
Is it always the same person?
That is the intention and it is what happens almost every time. If someone is on holiday or off sick, we tell you before a different face turns up.
Do you handle the bed linen and towels?
Yes, in two ways: either we use the sets you keep at the property and leave the dirty load washing, or we take care of all the laundry off-site. The second costs more but takes it off your hands entirely.
Can you do a check-out and a check-in on the same day?
Yes, that is our normal work in high season. We need the times in advance so we can hold the team.
How do I know it was done if I am off the island?
We send a report with photographs of each room at the end of every clean. If something is wrong — a fault, a breakage — you know before the guest arrives.
Is there a better price for several units?
Yes. With several units the travel cost is spread out and we can offer a noticeably better price per unit. Tell us how many flats you have.
Can you come before the work is completely finished?
We would advise against it. If there is still painting or fitting to do, the dust comes straight back. Best to come after the last job — and we will do a second pass if it is genuinely needed.
Do you take away rubble?
We take small offcuts and packaging. Building rubble — cement bags, broken tiles, timber — has to be cleared by the contractor before we arrive.
How long until I can move in?
The same day. When we leave, the place is ready to live in.
Do you work outside office hours?
Yes, that is the norm. Before 9am or after 7pm, whichever suits you. We also work weekends.
Do you invoice to a company tax number?
Yes. For regular contracts we issue one monthly invoice covering every service that month.
What about washroom consumables?
We can supply and restock paper, soap and bags with the cost built into the monthly fee, or simply use the ones the company already buys. Whichever you prefer.
How long does it take to dry?
Between 4 and 6 hours in most cases. We leave windows open, and a dehumidifier helps if you have one. Do not sleep on the mattress that same night.
Does every stain come out?
We will not promise what we cannot deliver. Fresh stains almost always come out. Old ink, bleach or rust marks may fade without disappearing. We tell you what to expect before we start.
Do I need to take the sofa anywhere?
No. The equipment comes to your home and the work is done on the spot.
Do you do upper floors from the outside?
We do whatever a telescopic pole reaches safely. Work at height with rope access or a platform needs a specialist firm — and we tell you that plainly rather than take the risk.
How often is it worth doing?
Close to the sea, every two or three months. Further inland, twice a year is usually enough.
Does pressure washing damage paving?
It does if it is used badly. We match the pressure and the nozzle to the stone in question and, where needed, top the sand back up between the joints at the end.
How long does it stay clean?
In a damp, shaded spot the green starts coming back within 6 to 12 months. With an anti-moss treatment applied at the end it lasts considerably longer.
Better before or after the furniture goes out?
After, always. With the place empty we reach everything and the result is in a different league.
Do you guarantee I get the deposit back?
That depends on the landlord and the general state of the property, not only on the cleaning. What we guarantee is that the cleaning will not be the reason it is withheld.
How often is it worth having?
In a small block, once a week is usually enough. With many residents or a garage, two or three times. We assess it on the visit.
Do you do annual contracts?
Yes, and there is a discount for annual contracts. We also work month by month if the management would rather try it out first.
